To expand and to contribute towards digital drive of inclusion in Punjab, Bharti Airtel is expected to invest more than Rs.4, 000 crore in next 5 years, as per the statement of company said on Monday. Punjab government and Airtel have signed the agreement on Monday on the side-lines of Progressive Investors Summit of Punjab, further down which Airtel would take their high speed of 4G LTE services to various towns and villages all across the state.
Being part of this agreement, the company would provide an additional 10,000 km of the optic fiber cables all across Punjab and will also expand their footprints of 4G to cover maximum state’s population over last some years. It will also provide a main boost to the growth of broadband services in the rural areas which also enable the delivery of services like e-governance, e-health and e-education as per the statement. The company anticipates that it will offer fillip to growth of digital economy in state and will support the businesses and the government.
